The International Student Services office conducts English language proficiency screenings for enrolled students in grades 6-12 who indicate a language other than English on any of the Home Language Survey questions. The Cobb County School District uses the WIDA Screener to determine language support eligibility (ESOL services) for students.
For high school students, an international transcript evaluation is completed by the International Student Advisor to review course credits earned and make recommendations on grade placement based on documentation provided by the enrolling adult.

Our Mission
The Cobb County School District International Welcome Center (IWC), facilitates home-to-school and school-to-home communications by providing local schools, parents, and community with the following support services: middle school English language proficiency assessment for international students, high school English language proficiency testing for international students which includes advisement, grade placement and transcript evaluation, as well as translation of district policies and local school documents, interpretation of school related meetings, student evaluations, parent conferences, special education meetings, and hearings.
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin in programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance.
How To Request an Interpreter or Translation
An Interpreter is someone who provides a spoken language interpretation between speakers who speak different languages.
A Translator is someone who translates written text from one language to another.
